Raw vs living

How much of your daily diet is composed of still living foods? In my opinion, foods that are dry or "uncooked" still lack the vitality of sprouted living foods. The drink Kombucha made from cultured tea is loaded with vitality and living organisms that are beneficial to health, even though it was cultured in tea and sugar. Many uncooked foods, even laura bars which are uncooked are not "living" the way fresh sprouts or freshly picked fruits and veggies are. Dry nuts can be raw but they can produce the same lethargy that cooked grains can produce if they are not soaked in water to activate their life force.

Admittedly, my diet is not 100% living, but I think its an additional element that we should become conscious off.

we had a debate about this in another Raw tribe., I insisted that a seed or grain is not living until it is activated by water, and then light. A few others disagreed and one said that the potential for life equalled life. I suppose this could be extrapolated into an abortion debate....

In the winter when i was freezing my ass off, i ate more nuts and dehydrated crackers, macaroons, raw soups, stuff that made me "feel" warmer. But i also made a point of eating more fermented and sprouted foods because i felt that the vitality of the produce i was buying in the supermarket was lacking. The more living foods you eat, the more sensitive you become to the vibrational qualities of everything around you--even people (once i was in Walmart and had to leave immediately because suddenly i saw everyone around me as a zombie!). I remember last summer, after being 100% raw for about 6 weeks, i bought some strawberries from the farmer's market. The salesperson told me that the berries had just been picked a few hours ago. I could see that, feel it, and definitely taste it--they were the most precious thing i'd ever put into my mouth. This summer i will have my own garden, and that is the ultimate in living food--food that you raised yourself. I can't wait to share my experiences with these plants.

Anyway, i'm always open to further the debate over what is and isn't "living". I try my best not to be rigid and stubborn about things, even though my senses tell me that a long-dried kernel of buckwheat is not alive.
