i have noticed in the past year that when i stay 100% on raw food and eat lots of greens and sprouts, i am MUCH more gentle and don't get angry at all. If anything, i get moved emotionally and feel great compassion, even in my dreams which are truly blissful--but never anger. Any time i cheat on my diet and let things slide, eat a little bit of this, a little bit of that, some sugar, some starch, i feel my anxiety creeping up and my temper returns. People i know who eat regular human food think i'm crazy, they don't see how cooked food could cause anger. I have come to see it as a manifestation of the love i put into my body, and subsequently the love that pours out. When i send the message to my body that it's ok to eat death, i think it revolts and protests by making my skin break out in angry boils and my emotions turn to stressful ones in an effort to purge the death from my being.

Unfortunately I have seen angry raw vegans. Meat products contain hormones which may increase anger (Raw state included), and cooked grains and processed sugar may increase candida and affect blood sugar and other things, but there is also an internal element. Most important is self mastery. Raw vegan dieting is an external practice that can have benefits for your state of mind. It certainly makes me more energetic and conscious, but how I respond to others is still my own decision.

I do believe it can help though.

yes you're right, it's not all about the food.
but i have found that when i stay totally raw vegan for at least a week at a time, i become so much more clear and able to see myself honestly. I think the reactions we have to foods can interfere with the process of self mastery.
