Re: On a lighter note
Fri, April 25, 2008 - 11:54 AMmy midday snack:
about 1 cup of freshly made almond milk
1 banana
1-2 dates
1/2 inch piece of vanilla bean
1 tablespoon raw cacao nibs
sometimes a bit of agave
sometimes a few cashews if i want it thicker
blend with a couple of ice cubes for a cold one.
there are many variations to this, including the addition of mango or kiwi.
i have even tossed in a few coffee beans when i needed a lift, however, they are not raw. if i had raw ones, (like if my coffee plant would put out...) i would definitely use them.

Re: On a lighter note
Fri, April 25, 2008 - 12:16 PMhahaha…put out…Freshly made seed/nut milk is the best. When I was younger my mom would make sesame seed milk or pudding from figs and almonds every morning for breakfast. -

Re: On a lighter note
Fri, April 25, 2008 - 12:34 PMi make an endless variety of banana puddings--I dunno why I never thought of adding avacados before, but I'll try it now--thx for the tip!
Pick a few ingredients for various combinations:
mashed bananas (duh)
raw cacoa powder (love the Nature's First Law brand)
semi-sweet chocolate chips (Sunfood brand rocks!)
agave nectar
almond or peanut butter
cashews
walnuts
raisins
dates
apricots
Sassy's Seedalicious topping plus hemp seeds (www.vegancoach.com/nutritio...gan.html)

Fri, April 25, 2008 - 12:40 PMDo you sprout your nuts? -

Re: On a lighter note
Fri, April 25, 2008 - 12:53 PMavocado is awesome with banana, this plus cacao makes a fab pie filling.
I'm not sure who you were asking about the nut sprouting, Sentience. I soak my almonds overnight, but even after two days i've never gotten them to sprout. These almonds come straight from a farm in Cali and they are not fumigated or heated, but still, i've never gotten an almond (or any nut, for that matter) to sprout. I sure wish they would, because i plan to get a Champion juicer and start making my own nut butters. The Vitamix is said to be able to do that, but i've never gotten it to work.
