just wondering if any of you have had success with Gabriel Cousen's Rainbow Green diet. . .
one thing i don't quite understand is how to get enough calories when you're eating minimal to no sweet fruit and "only as much fat as one avocado per day," which i was advised by a graduate of Gabriel's Spiritual Nutrition program. A sample daily menu that meets daily calorie requirements (I'm guessing at the very least 1500 calories per day?) would be helpful.
Thank you!

Re: Rainbow Green Experiences and Menus?
Sun, April 6, 2008 - 2:47 AMI've read many of the raw food nutrition books out there and tried the different theories. I tried the no fruit routine of Gabriel Cousins and felt good but not near as good as I feel eating alot of fruit. I feel much more satisfied after eating tasty juicy fruit as much and as often as i want.
I suggest reading the 80-10-10 book by Dr. Douglas Graham. It explained alot. I'm just going by what makes me feel best, and lots of fruit has been essential for me to be able to maintain a raw diet, I would have not make it these last 15 months without it.
Best of luck to you!

Re: Rainbow Green Experiences and Menus?
Wed, April 9, 2008 - 4:07 PMbasically to prevent yeast and fungus. You're only supposed to avoid fruit for the first three months, then after that it's limited. But this doesn't seem right to me, since then most of your calories are going to come from fat.
