Raw Vegan Spirit

I myself have been considering starting a tribe for raw vegans who have the spirit of total rawness, even if they aren't able to manage to eat 100% raw more than parttime. To my way of thinking, cooked foods are very much similar in effect to smoking............. we really don't need to debate over the merits of smoking vs not smoking.... even though our medical doctors and scientists used to tell us that smoking was good for us (yes they did back in the early to mid 20th century). Trying to quit among those who have no intention of quitting, despite the fact that they appreciate the merits of fresh air (and raw vegan foods) .... many of whom will argue endlessly against All common sense...... is not an agreeable psycho-social circumstance to be in.
So, here's the Raw Vegan Spirit tribe:

Personally I think it makes the most sense for you, who is both 100% and 100% vegan to host the pure raw vegan tribe. I would hope you also contribute to this tribe for the discussion and debate of raw issues though, because many people are just curious and not ready to make the leap, and if you try being nice to them and lead by example sometimes you may convert people without beating it over their head.

Im attempting to go 100% raw vegan again for the warmer summer months here, though I imagine I will likely end up being 90% raw then return to my normal vegan diet in the fall.

What would really help me though is more recipes and discussions on raw food combinations.

I have no problem with being nice, as I am a good natured person.

I don't back down from someone who goes head to head with me, especially over issues which I've had some 50+ years of experience dealing with (i wanted to be raw vegan from my earliest memories as a child.... and was traumatized repeatedly by my parents, ... who did everything in their power to prevent it).

I don't enjoy debating with those who skirt the points I make, .....as if doing so, and restating some obscure science, and insulting my intelligences,.......is sufficient towards a justification to deride me and my positions.

I find I am generally 'baited' into personal confrontations by those who are challenged by the information I present.... and wish to make me appear to have character flaws, rather than actually dealing with the information itself. This is a loathsome tactic which is frequently used against me. If one doesn't employ such methodologies, I am as civil as anyone else.

Good luck with your efforts towards experimenting with periodic total raw diet. My energies crescendo in the summer and fall due to eating fresher and locally grown at this time, and cutting back on fat intake, along with more physical activities.

"find I am generally 'baited' into personal confrontations by those who are challenged by the information I present..."

Well, you certainly have a lot of personal experience, but that doesnt necessarily mean you are always right, or that your favorite sources are always right. Cooking for example destroys many things. If you make a claim such as "Cooking will turn minerals from their organic state to their inorganic state because it denatures the amino acids that bind it", Im going to have to call bullshit because we are probably talking about a 3% loss of organic minerals, but a significantly higher loss of certain vitamins and enzymes. I dont agree with such bold exaggerations like the claim that cooked foods do not contain organic minerals, or that your body cannot use inorganic minerals......but anyway, those debates belong in this tribe, not your tribe.

Yes, and i specified that the terminology "organic minerals" when applied to raw foods means essentially "living minerals".... and/or otherwise of highest quality. The technical term "organic" when used in the name "organic chemistry" has nothing to do with food quality, and everything to do with carbon-based chemistry. Inorganic minerals have to be converted to "living" minerals to be used by the body.... and this requires such things as symbiotic bacteria in the gut to make this transformation, to make the upgrade. Inorganic, meaning non-living minerals, become a burden on the body, ...toxins to be eliminated if they are able to enter in excess by way of eating cooked foods. This plays a role in stone formation and petrification of tissues in the body.

ok you guys, don't get to debating that in this thread...
maybe you two need to start a private tribe just for bantering amongst yourselves!
Thank you Leslie for starting that tribe. Now i don't have to moderate another one (i already have a bunch...) I'll be seeing you over there very soon.
