Re: Swiss chard
Tue, September 2, 2008 - 6:34 PMHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!
Swiss Chard was eaten raw approximately 263 days out of the past year in my home. It has transformed me into a superhuman being.
When i clicked on that site, the first thing i noticed was the Minute Rice ad at the top of the page. That should give you some clue as to the Food Network's orientation. I wouldn't go looking for raw recipes at mainstream cooking sites. Try www.goneraw.com for more delicious raw recipes than you can shake a leaf at. -

Re: Swiss chard
Tue, September 2, 2008 - 6:36 PMp.s. During the remaining 102 days, kale was eaten raw in my home. That is probably even less likely to be eaten raw by muggles. -

Re: Swiss chard
Sat, September 13, 2008 - 5:49 PMI got a belly ache when I ate raw kale... then I tried it in a smoothie to see if that would help, and still had belly trouble. I don't have a juicer. Has anyone else experienced this, without juicing the stuff?? Just wondering. -

Sun, September 14, 2008 - 6:27 AMNot with kale, but definitely with chard. My raw chard experiences always lead me to many belly problems.

Re: Swiss chard
Sun, September 14, 2008 - 7:03 AMyes!! but I asked Vicoria boutanko about it and she said it was my 20 year old vitamix blenders fault. ( or any cheap blender would do the same) she said it wasn't breaking down the greens down enough to be assimilatable for me and that i really needed to invest in a newer vitamix. well I did and now the issue is solved.

Re: Swiss chard
Sun, September 14, 2008 - 9:19 AMThank you all for your kind replies. I was visiting that particular site because I'm a newbie and I don't have information on what is in season and when, how to store different types of produce, how long it can be stored, etc. Does any one have a good source for this information? I have pieced together some information from several different sources, but I have yet to find one source has everything I need.
